299 Atlantic Blvd, M-Shack, 2014 Elec Permit Email ThreadFrom:Giles, Christian To:"m_gossert@yahoo.com" Cc:"KRISTIE@LOVETTMILLER.COM"; Dan Arlington (darlington@coab.us); Jennifer Johnston (jjohnston@coab.us); Toni Gindlesperger (tgin@coab.us) Subject:299 Atlantic Blvd, M-Shack, 2014 Elec Permit Date:Friday, October 08, 2021 11:49:00 AM Attachments:image001.png Good Morning, Shown below is the information City of Atlantic Beach Building Official, Dan Arlington, has provided for the 2014 electrical permit for “replace burnt/damaged meter can” (14-00000485) This permit is over 7 years old and, apparently, the work was never inspected. The details, why, cannot be determined. My inspection notes follow: 10/6/2021 2:10:54 PM (Dan Arlington) 1. Meters and disconnects are not labeled, so they cannot be inspected. Building appears to have 4 business spaces and 4 addresses. Please verify and label accordingly. There appears to be three 299 Atlantic Blvds. 2. The main disconnect enclosure, labeled 299, is rusted out to the point where it is no longer bonded. A safety hazard. Please replace enclosure. No inspection of the 2014 work was done. The inspection can take place when all of the services, meter cans, and disconnects are labeled and the actual permitted work can be identified. NEC Article 230.2(E) requires all services and branch circuits to be identified by the area served and a permanent plaque or directory, identifying any other services to the building. (There is, at least one other electric service at the east end of the building.) The labeling existing in 2014 cannot be determined. The rusted-out disconnect enclosure may have passed inspection 7 years ago, but it is now an electrical safety hazard and must be replaced. This permit has been reinstated, to accommodate a final inspection, and no re-inspection fees will be charged. Thank you, Dan Arlington Dan Arlington, CBO Building Official City of Atlantic Beach, Florida darlington@coab.us (904) 247-5813
