This report is required to be submitted to the Office of he Comptroller in the Department of Banking and Finance of the State of Florida each year. It is a compilation of data from the city's audit report which has been reformatted according to the State's specifications. The attached Financial Report must be signed by the Mayor and submitted within 45 days of the delivery of the audit report. RECOMMENDATION: We recommend the authorization for the Mayor to sign the Financial Report as attached and discussed in this staff report. Local Government Financial Report Each year the City is required to submit a financial report to the Office of the Comptroller, Department of Banking and Finance of the State of Florida. This report is called the Local Government Financial Report and is required by Section 218.32 of the Florida Statutes. The report represents the City's Audited Financial Statement data reformatted according to the State's specifications using the Uniform Accounting System Manual. The report is to be filed within 45 days of the delivery of the audit report which was February 22, 1999. Failure to file this report may affect the City's receiving state shared revenues. Recommendation: I recommend that the City Commission authorize the Mayor to sign the State of Florida Local Government Report for Fiscal Year 1997-1998.
