1. Verify and confirm that all windows and doors to be replaced that can be viewed from the ocean comply with Atlantic Beach Ordinance 95-17-114,
Sea Turtle Protection. A pdf of that ordinance will be attached to this review comment document.
2. If newly installed windows/doors are facing the ocean the glazing is required to meet Turtle Glass Standards. Glazing visible from the beach shall be
tinted/treated to achieve an industry-approved, inside –to-outside light transmittance value of 45% or less. Such transmittance is limited to the visible
spectrum (400 to 700 nanometers) and is measured as the percentage of light that is transmitted through the glass.
3. Please show how that the new glazing in doors and windows will meet the above standard for light transmittance or provide a means of tinting that
will produce the standard. All documentation shall be reviewed by the A.B. Building Department.
4. If glazing is to be tinted/treated, the application shall be installed to receive and approved final inspection for this permit.
