C OAB Mayor's C ouncil on Health and Wellbei ng (2022). VIce Chair. Beaches Watch Board Member
(2019-2021) Beaches Watch P rogram Committee Member (2019-2022) C OAB Cultural Arts and
Recreati on Commi ttee (3 or 4 years in the early 2000s). Came up wi th the i dea, developed, and delivered
Songwriters Night (2003) and Acousti c Ni ght (2003). They will be celebrating their 20th anniversary in
2023. 33 years as a teacher. Last 20+ years as a professor at FSC J. S erved and chaired numerous
committees. I retired i n 2015. Writer (14 books). I am worki ng on my fi rst novel. Speaker. Workshops,
keynotes, commencement speeches, and faci li tations. Reti red (for the most part) i n 2019. Podcaster,
blogger, videographer. Wrote and recorded two music C Ds. www.stevepiscitelli .com. Most mornings I post

started the JaxPaws program at the Jacksonville International Airport. We visited C ommuni ty Hospi ce and
Baptist Medi cal C enter Beaches on a regular basis for nearly 4 years. We had to reti re in D ecember of thi s
year (2022) as my cani ne companion, Roxi e, developed significant health issues. Marri ed to Lauri e for
(come February 14, 2023) 47 years.

I was intrigued when I learned (a li ttle) about the charter revi ew process when Jacksonvi lle Beach recently
completed its revi sions. A s part of the Beaches Watch Program C ommittee, I helped set up a communi ty
meeting so the Jax Bch mayor could explain the proposed revisions to the community. As I understand i t,
the city charter is the most essenti al document for our city's operation. Such a review needs to be a cri ti cal
thinking process not a politi cal or i deologi cal stage. Any recommendati ons for revisions need to be
exami ned for assumptions, supported wi th facts/evi dence, advance the health and well-being of our city,
and open for C OAB resi dents to have input. In short, the process needs to be one of a series of
deliberative dialogues. I realize that i f I were appointed to this commi ttee, I would have much to learn. I look
forward to servi ng wi th a competent chai r and the legal guidance of the COAB staff. In short, I want to serve
my communi ty.
