LEADERS IN THE INDUSTREE

REPORT
THE TREE
Species -Live oak(Quercus virginiana)
Location-Backyard,left side.
Tree count- 1
Condition-Good
OBSERVATIONS
The tree is located in the backyard right side near the comer of the property. The tree grows out over
multiple trees towards the house. There is one primary lead that hangs low over multiple trees, and
will be conflicting with these trees in the near future.
CONCLUSION
This tree is holding a lot of weight out towards the home. It is my suggestion that end weight reduc-
tion pruning will be necessary to keep the tree strong and healthy. 3 to 4 branches near the end of the
low primary lead, growing towards the home, can be removed to provide sufficient weight reduction.
This can be done anytime of the year, however, it will be best for the health of the tree if it is done
during the dormant season.
THE TREE
Species-Live oak(Quercus virginiana)
Location-Center of the backyard.
Tree count- 1
Condition-Good
OBSERVATIONS
This tree is the largest tree, and it's immediate vicinity and has overtaken it's competition. It shades
multiple smaller trees around it and it's growing relatively untendered. The canopy is beginning to
get close to overhanging the roof of the home. There is one large lead that is growing towards the
neighboring property to the left,I would call this branch over extended.
2
CONCLUSION
The primary concern for this tree is pruning for health, safety and longevity. It is my opinion that the
canopy growing towards the home can be pruned back by approximately 3 to 5 feet in order to keep
it away from the home. I also would recommend the large lead growing towards the neighboring
property to the left to be removed as there are no suitable areas to reduce the branch back to in the
middle of the stem. I recommend that this work be performed during the dormant season.
THE TREE
Species - Slash pine(Pinus elliottii)
Location-Backyard, left side and right side.
Tree count-2
Measurements-Both trees measure approximately 14 inches DBH, and are approximately 40 feet
tall.
Condition-Poor
OBSERVATIONS
These trees have been severely choked out by vines.Vines have grown up the trunk and are covering
both canopies. This has resulted in multiple large branches dying and breaking. The tree located in
the backyard to the left has completely died. The tree located in the backyard to the right is declining
in health and is losing large branches. Both trees are located against a wooden fence in the backyard
and overhangs an area of the backyard that is used frequently by the homeowner.
CONCLUSION
Considering the condition of the trees health, the location of the trees, and the risk that they pose to
the homeowner and property, it is my opinion that both trees should be removed.
THE TREE
Species -East Palatka Holly
Location-Backyard, left side.
Tree count- 1
Measurements- 11 inches DBH and approximately 20 feet tall.
Condition-Poor
OBSERVATIONS
3
The tree is located against the property fence and is growing away from the larger, adjacent trees in
the backyard out towards the neighboring property to the left in search of sunlight. The tree's canopy
is completely covered in vines, which has resulted in severe die back in the canopy.
CONCLUSION
Considering the combination of the damage that the vines have inflicted on the canopy and the se-
vere lean that the tree has, it is my opinion that this tree should be removed.
THE TREE
Species -Red Maple (Acer rubrum)
Location-Backyard,left side.
Tree count- 1
Measurements- 5 inches DBH and approximately 12 feet tall.
Condition- Good
OBSERVATIONS
This tree is in good health and has good growth structure, however, the tree leans slightly and is cov-
ered in vines. The homeowner desires to have this tree removed to allow for increased sunlight expo-
sure and increased room for more desirable larger trees to grow.
THE TREE
Species -Laurel oak(Quercus laurifolia)
Location-Backyard, left side.
Tree count- I
Measurements- 9 inches DBH and approximately 25 feet tall.
Condition-Poor
OBSERVATIONS
The tree is located against the property fence and is growing away from the larger, adjacent trees in
the backyard out towards the neighboring property to the left in search of sunlight. This puts the
fence at risk of being damaged as a tree gets larger. The tree's canopy is completely covered in vines,
which has resulted in severe die back in the canopy. The tree also has poor growth structure as mul-
tiple codominant unions can be found.
CONCLUSION
4
Considering the combination of the damage that the vines have inflicted on the canopy, the risk that
the tree poses to the fence and the lean towards the neighbors property to the left,it is my opinion
that this tree should be removed.
THE TREE
Species -Laurel oak(Quercus laurifolia)
Location-Backyard, left side.
Tree count- 1
Measurements- 8 inches DBH and approximately 25 feet tall.
Condition-Poor
OBSERVATIONS
The tree is very similar to the adjacent laurel oak previously mentioned in this report. It is located
against the property fence and is growing away from the larger, adjacent trees in the backyard out
towards the neighboring property to the left in search of sunlight, putting the fence at risk of being
damaged as a tree gets larger. The tree's canopy is completely covered in vines, which has resulted in
severe die back in the canopy. The tree also has poor growth structure as multiple codominant unions
can be found.
CONCLUSION
Considering the combination of the damage that the vines have inflicted on the canopy, the risk that
the tree poses to the fence and the lean towards the neighbors property to the left, it is my opinion
that this tree should be removed.
THE TREE
Species -Live oak(Quercus virginiana)
Location-Backyard, left side.
Tree count- 1
Measurements - 18 inches DBH and approximately 30 feet tall.
Condition-Poor
OBSERVATIONS
The tree is located along the property line to the left of the house. All of the growth in the trees
canopy is growing towards the neighboring property to the left. The trees canopy is also covered in
vines and has multiple large, dead branches. The primary concern for this tree is the presence of
wood borers as sawdust can be found on the trunk. The tree also has a large codominant union at ap-
proximately 5 feet on the trunk with included bark.
5
CONCLUSION
Considering the combination of the damage that the vines have inflicted on the canopy, the presence
of wood borers in the trunk and the bark inclusion at the codominant union, it is my opinion that this
tree should be removed.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
