A RESOLUTION CERTIFYING THAT THE BEACHES
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY PROGRAM OPERATING IN
THE CDBG INCOME ELIGIBLE AREAS OF THE CITY OF
ATLANTIC BEACH IS CONSISTENT WITH
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND THE LAND
DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS OF THE CITY;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it is necessary and in the public interest that the City of
Atlantic Beach certify that the Beaches Habitat Program is consistent with local
plans and regulations in order to comply with the provisions of the Community
Improvement Act of 1980; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) income
• eligible areas have been designated as specifically targeted neighborhoods by the
City of Atlantic Beach; and
WHEREAS, the Beaches Habitat program is a specific program designed to
offer home ownership to low income residents in an effort to stem further decline in
CDBG income eligible areas and should receive full endorsement and support from
the City of Atlantic Beach; and
WHEREAS, the Community Improvement Act of 1980, requires that a
resolution be passed by the local government certifying that a project applying for
approval from the State of Florida under the Act is consistent with local plans and
regulations; now, therefore,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City
of Atlantic Beach, Florida:
Section 1. The Beaches Habitat Program complies with all local plans and
regulations for the improvement of the CDBG income eligible areas as designated
by the City Commission of City of Atlantic Beach, Florida. This resolution shall be
forwarded to the State of Florida, Department of Community Affairs, to enable
Ill Beaches Habitat for Humanity to participate in the State of Florida's Community
Improvement Act of 1980.
Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption by the
City Commission of City of Atlantic Beach.
