A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA HONORING ANN
B. MEUSE FOR HER FOUR YEARS OF SERVICE AS FINANCE DIRECTOR FOR
THE CITY AND CITIZENS OF ATLANTIC BEACH
WHEREAS,Ann Meuse served as the Finance Director for the City of Atlantic Beach since
January 17, 1994; and is resigning from this position, effective January 27, 1998, to accept a new
position as Comptroller for the City of Jacksonville; and
WHEREAS, Ann reorganized the City's Utility Billing Division, thus establishing an
efficient, professional Division that is better able to meet the needs of our citizens. She changed the
utility billing to four-cycle billings which improved customer service and streamlined operations;and
WHEREAS,the City's audit for Fiscal Year 1996/97 has been completed and, once again,
for the fourth year in a row the City has received an excellent report with no management
deficiencies; and
WHEREAS, she coordinated the$22 million city bond issue,which is being used to fund the
city's storm water drainage, sewer, and water projects; and
WHEREAS, Ann updated the City's purchasing procedure by converting to paperless
purchase order approval,which modernized and simplified the Purchasing Department, and enabled
staff to operate more efficiently. She prepared Request for Proposals for the City's health care
service which resulted in a savings of$100,634, and was instrumental in the creation of a Human
Resource Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Commission and Citizens of Atlantic Beach extend their most
heartfelt appreciation to Ann B. Meuse for her years of outstanding service in administering the
financial needs of our City and our Community.
SECTION 2. The City Commission wishes Ann continued success in her career.
