A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
RECOGNIZING THE WEEK OF MARCH 8-14, 1998 AS
"NATIONAL EMPLOY THE OLDER WORKER WEEK"
WHEREAS, employers are depending more and more on older workers for their
experience and expertise; and
WHEREAS, The Florida Program of Green Thumb, Inc., provides mature
workers to the City of Atlantic Beach, which contributes to the day to day operation of its
city government; and
WHEREAS, mature workers have skills such as courtesy, patience, helpfulness,
and empathy. They are loyal and committed to the work ethic; and
WHEREAS, City governments and other agencies and facilities that utilize
Green Thumb participants would like to recognize and honor them.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Commission of the City
of Atlantic Beach, Florida recognizes
March 8-14, 1998 as
NATIONAL EMPLOY THE OLDER WORKER WEEK
throughout this community and encourages all residents to join in honoring and promoting
the values of mature workers.
Adopted by the City Commission of Atlantic Beach, Florida, this 9th day of
March, 1998.
