A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH
RECOGNIZING THE SIXTEENTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE
BEACHES HONOR GUARD
WHEREAS, the Beaches Honor Guard was formed on July 5, 1981 to honor those who
have served in America's wars, as well as those who served in peace time; and
WHEREAS, the Beaches Honor Guard provides services on Flag Day, Veterans Day,
Memorial Day and Independence Day each year; and
WHEREAS, on December 7th of each year the Beaches Honor Guard participates with the
Fleet Reserve Association, Branch 290 in the Pearl Harbor Day Ceremony at sea; and
WHEREAS, the Beaches Honor Guard is an all volunteer organization comprised of men
and women who give freely of their time for such functions as bestowing military honors at funerals
for veterans for all branches of the military, providing a final tribute which befits the veteran's service
and sacrifice.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
hereby commends the members of the Beaches Honor Guard for their service to the veterans and
their families and loved ones, and extends sincere thanks and gratitude to the Beaches Honor Guard
for their sixteen years of service to the community.
ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach this 28th day of July ,
1997.
