A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
DECLARING THE WEEK AUGUST 25 - SEPTEMBER 1, 1997, AS
FIREFIGHTER APPRECIATION WEEK IN ATLANTIC BEACH.
WHEREAS, fire fighters daily dedicate their lives to protect the life and property of fellow
citizens; and
WHEREAS, the city's fire fighters work together on commun{'ty projects to make the City
of Atlantic Beach a better place in which to live; and
WHEREAS, these dedicated employees contribute many hours to those less fortunate by
conducting annual charity drives for worthwhile health programs such as the Muscular Dystrophy
Association; and
WHEREAS, in 1996, Florida Firefighters raised over $800,000 in support of the Muscular
Dystrophy Association's important cause.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ATLANTIC BEACH CITY
COMMISSION:
THE ATLANTIC BEACH CITY COMMISSION HEREBY RECOGNIZES
THE WEEK OF AUGUST 25 TO SEPTEMBER 1, 1997, AS FIRE FIGHTER
APPRECIATION WEEK AND COMMENDS THE CITY'S FIRE FIGHTERS
FOR THEIR EFFORTS ON BEHALF OF THE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY
ASSOCIATION
Adopted by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida, this 25th day of August,
1997.
