WHEREAS,Lyman Fletcher has served the citizens of Atlantic Beach with distinction for six years,
having been elected to Commission Seat 4 in 1991 and to Mayor Seat 1 in 1993 and again in 1995;
and
WHEREAS, Lyman Fletcher represented the citizens and voters of Atlantic Beach in a forthright,
honest and objective manner always striving to serve the best interests of the city and all its citizens;
and
WHEREAS, Lyman Fletcher demonstrated a keen interest in beautification projects and the
environment,and was instrumental in bringing to fruition the purchase of the Tresca property which
will be developed as a waterfront park; and
WHEREAS,Lyman Fletcher has continued to work toward the acquisition of Dutton Island which
will be enjoyed by future generations of Atlantic Beach residents as well as residents of Jacksonville.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,the City Commission of Atlantic Beach, Florida, hereby
expresses deep appreciation for the contributions of Lyman Fletcher and extends heartfelt gratitude
on behalf of the citizens of Atlantic Beach.
ADOPTED by the City Commission of Atlantic Beach, Florida, this 4th day of November, 1997.
