WHEREAS, Dane Smith, Patrolman, entered motorcycle competition in the Southeast
Police Motorcycle Rodeo which took place April 10, 1996; and
WHEREAS, out of 119 participants from Maryland to Tampa, Patrolman Smith placed
first in the novice class and fourth overall in standings of all classes; and

WHEREAS, the City Commission recognizes that Officer Smith has proved to be a ,5
talented motorcycle operator and as such is an asset to the Police Department and the citizens of
Atlantic Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Commission of Atlantic Beach,
Florida, does hereby express its congratulations to Officer Dane Smith.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution of recognition and
appreciation be spread upon the official minutes of the City of Atlantic Beach and a certified copy
hereof be furnished to Officer Dane Smith.
