A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING THE STRUCTURE OF THE CULTURAL ARTS
BOARD; DECEASING THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS FROM NINE (9)
TO SEVEN (7); PROVIDING FOR A CHANGE IN THE LENGTH OF
APPOINTED TERMS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Cultural Arts Board of Atlantic Beach was created by Resolution 94-
10 and later amended by Resolutions 94-13 and 95-15, and
WHEREAS, the structure of this Board can be improved upon and made more functional
by reducing the number of appointed members from nine (9) to seven(7), and
WHEREAS, the continuity of the Board membership can be better maintained by initially
appointing four of its members to three year terms, and three of its members to two year terms.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Commission of Atlantic Beach
does hereby amend the structure of the Cultural Arts Board to consist of seven members,
appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Commission.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the initial appointments to the Cultural Arts Board
shall be as follows: four(4) of the members of the Cultural Arts Board shall be appointed for a
term of three years and three (3) members shall be appointed for a term of two years.
Thereafter, each term shall be for a period of two years. Vacancies shall be filled by appointment
by the Mayor and approval of the City Commission for the unexpired terms affected. .
