95-22 v RESOLUTION 95-22 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA SHOWING SUPPORT FOR A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF DUTTON ISLAND AS AN INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY PARK. WHEREAS, Dutton Island is an undeveloped natural island on the Intracoastal Waterway with public access, and WHEREAS, the island is threatened by future development, and WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach wishes to preserve Dutton Island from development, and WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville is willing to work in partnership with the City of Atlantic Beach to preserve Dutton Island as a limited use park, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City of Atlantic Beach agrees to assist the City of Jacksonville in the planning, development and management of the proposed Dutton Island Intracoastal Waterway Park. SECTION 2. The Mayor is authorized to take such action as required to communicate with the City of Jacksonville to seek the development of Dutton Island as a limited use natural park.
