WHEREAS, the USS John F. Kennedy, an aircraft carrier of the U.S. Navy, has recently
been home ported at the Mayport Naval Station, and
WHEREAS,the Mayport Naval Station is located in close proximity to the City of Atlantic
Beach, and
WHEREAS, the city of Atlantic Beach will be a home away from home for many of the
officers and crew serving on the USS John F. Kennedy, and
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach is happy to have the crew of the USS John F.
Kennedy and their families in our community.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,that the Atlantic Beach City Commission extends
a warm welcome to the Captain, officers and crew of the USS John F. Kennedy and invites them
and their families to become a part of our community.
