95-35 v P RESOLUTION NO. 95-35 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, RECOGNIZING THE EFFORTS OF WILLIAM I. GULLIFORD, JR., IN THE SUCCESSFUL LAWSUIT AGAINST THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, William I. Gulliford, Jr., has served as an elected Commissioner and Mayor of Atlantic Beach, Florida, including his last terms of office as Mayor from 1989 through 1993, and WHEREAS, William I. Gulliford, Jr., was instrumental during his last terms as Mayor of Atlantic Beach in initiating the process which resulted in the filing of a successful lawsuit against the City of Jacksonville, and WHEREAS, William I. Gulliford, Jr., was the driving force behind the continuation of the lawsuit against the City of Jacksonville and devoted much of his time and energy in pursuit of the successful conclusion of said lawsuit, even after he left the office of Mayor, all of which proved to be of great benefit to the citizens of this community. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach that William I. Gulliford, Jr., be commended for the outstanding services rendered to the citizens of this community and to the City of Atlantic Beach in connection with initiating and pursuing the successful lawsuit against the City of Jacksonville, and Be it further resolved that recognition of such service be spread upon the minutes of this body, and the City Commission does hereby officially extend the heartfelt gratitude of the city of Atlantic Beach, Florida. Adopted unanimously by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida, this 23rd day of October, 1995.
