A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH IN MEMORY OF
GLOVER WEISS
WHEREAS, Glover Weiss, a longtime resident of the City of Atlantic Beach, and
almost native of Florida beaches, died on September 1, 1994, and
WHEREAS, Glover Weiss, a graduate of Georgia Tech, through his lifelong love
of things electric first brought television"snow"to the Beaches and Jacksonville, and
WHEREAS, Glover Weiss extolled the virtues and desirability of living in Atlantic
Beach world wide through the medium of his Amateur Radio Station, W4EDT, and
WHEREAS, Glover Weiss, as an early president of the American Red Cross
• Lifesaving Corps, fostered development of erosion control measures for safer beaches, and
WHEREAS, Glover Weiss took a vital interest in Beaches civic organizations,
including serving on the Atlantic Beach City Commission from 1952 through 1957.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE ATLANTIC BEACH
CITY COMMISSION expresses sincere appreciation for the life of Glover Weiss and for
the outstanding services he rendered to the City of Atlantic Beach.
