WHEREAS, the Captain and Officers of the Italian Navy aircraft carrier ITS Giuseppe
Garibaldi have met with the Atlantic Beach City Commission and developed a beneficial
relationship, and
WHEREAS, the Atlantic Beach City Commission was honored to have the Italian Consul
General and Consul present at the meeting with the Captain and Officers, and
WHEREAS, the Atlantic Beach City Commission attended a reception aboard the ITS
Giuseppe Garibaldi and was extremely impressed by the hospitality of the ship's Crew.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH:
Section 1. That the Captain and Crew of the ITS Giuseppe Garibaldi are declared to
be Honorary Citizens of the City of Atlantic Beach.
Section 2. It is further declared that the City of Atlantic Beach serve as the homeport
away from home for the ITS Giuseppe Garibaldi.
ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida, this 10th day
of October, 1994.
