This W.Oak has numerous open cavities through out the main trunk. Possible wildlife has made
several cavities their homes. Condition of concern is that the decay causes the remaining
branches to fail at their branch collar union as seen in the top left picture. The tree was planted
to close to the house so structural pruning has been needed so a large portion of the tree has
already been removed. Pruning the remaining branches back in an attempt to alleviate weight
will not solve the decay issue. Removal is recommended.
