WHEREAS, the Intracoastal Navigation District gives grants for
projects which provide public access to waters within the District, and
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach is interested in making the
access to the Atlantic Ocean more readily available to the general
public, and
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach' s right-of-way on Atlantic
Boulevard serves as the major northern access for the public to Duval
County Beaches.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF ATLANTIC BEACH, DUVAL COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
That the City of Atlantic Beach and the Town Center jointly seek
funding from the Intracoastal Navigation District to develop an overlook
for viewing the ocean at the foot of Atlantic Boulevard, this project to
be constructed in a park with safety walls and trees leading to the
area.
Adopted by the City Commission this 2 day . April, 1992.
