Re: City of Atlantic Beach Charter Amendments for the 2024 General Election
Dear Jerry —
First I'd like to thank you for your contributions and assistance throughout the City's
Charter Review Committee process that took place throughout 2023, culminating in a
recommendation in 2024. Your guidance and historical perspective was invaluable.
To that end, the City of Atlantic Beach City Commission, at its last meeting on Monday
July 8, 2024 adopted the attached and below referenced six (6) charter amendment measures
for inclusion into the 2024 General Election to be held on November 5, 2024.
As previously discussed, the City Commission also voted on the arranging the ballot
measures in the question sequence proposed below, as follows:
1. Question 1: Ordinance 33-24-26: Environmental Stewardship
2. Question 2: Ordinance 33-24-29: Primaries when there are more than two (2)
candidates
office
3. Question 3: Ordinance 33-24-25: Residency Requirement (from 2 to 4 years) to run for
4. Question 4: Ordinance 33-24-30: Charter Review Process Clarifications
