WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach recognizes the importance
and value of that portion of Atlantic Boulevard bounded on the
east by the Atlantic Ocean and to the west by the intersection
of A1A, Third Street , and
WHEREAS. this area is a vital link to the economic well being
to both this community and that of our neighbor, Neptune
Beach, and
WHEREAS, certain aesthetic enhancements and improvements
within this area could substantially benefit citizens,
merchants and visitors, and
WHEREAS, the merchants of both Atlantic Beach and Neptune
Beach have expressed a serious concern and interest in said
improvements and enhancements,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Commission of the
City of Atlantic Beach enthusiastically endorses the concept
of the proposed improvements and indicates its willingness to
work in a partnership with the City of Neptune Beach, other
governmental agencies and businesses to explore such proposals
as deemed within the best interests of Atlantic Beach
citizens , both residential and corporate .
This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final
passage and adoption .
