91-16 v CITY OF • v.• >�actic �eacd - 94,14e4 trsolution No. 91-16 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH IN MEMORY OF CHARLES T. TINSLEY, JR. WHEREAS, Charles T. Tinsley, Jr., served the City of Atlantic Beach as a member of the Board of Adjustment from 1960 to 1985, and WHEREAS, Charles T. Tinsley, Jr. , served effectively and efficiently to promote the well-being of the citizens of Atlantic Beach, and WHEREAS, Charles T. Tinsley, Jr., has earned the utmost respect of the community for the capable manner in which he discharged his • responsibilities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE ATLANTIC BEACH CITY COMMISSION expresses sincere appreciation for the life of Charles T. Tinsley, "Jr:'; and : for 'the outstanding service rendered to the City of Atlantic Beach, and that the City Commission hereby expresses its most sincere sympathy to the family of Mr. Tinsley. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that recognition of such service and devotion to duty be spread upon the official minutes of this body by a copy hereof, and this original resolution be presented to the family of Charles T. He was born in Richmond, Virginia Mrs. Tinsley had lived in Atlantic Beach since 1960. He was a WW II U.S. Army veteran, founder and president of Florida Rubber and Supply Co. for 40. years and was a member of the Board of Adjustment for Atlantic Beach from 1960-1985, and a past president of the Selva Marina Country Club.He attended the University of Virginia, University of Richmond, T.C. Williams Law School and was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.He is survived by his wife of 52 years,Harriet Crawford Tinsley of"Atlantic Beach; his son, C. Thomas Tinsley III of Jacksonville; his • daughter, Jacquelyn Tinsley of Jacksonville and 2 grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at a later time. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, remembrances be made to Methodist Hospice/Memorial Medical Center, 580 W:-8th St., Jax FL 32209.
