3.TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION
A.Sustainability and Resilience Matters & Community Action Plan
i.Member reports
a.Mark met with Amanda about the Chemical Management Plan. Amanda
worried about encumbering money by 8/15 deadline. Found great
verbiage from EPA for pesticide management to send to Linda. Goal is
to start with the pamphlet/brochure and education.
b.Mark trying to meet with Amy Ayres.
c. Sarah shared that no entity in FL received CPRG funds…so no funding
for COAB. Here is link to the 25 selected applications:

d.COJ is seeking LEED for Cities certification by April 2025. Todd
wondered if it would be a good idea for COAB to recertify early/again in
2025 to take advantage of CPRG GHG inventory and getting on same
schedule as COJ recertification?
e.Sarah shared that even though we have received fleet data, she has not
had a chance to input the data into the consultant’s document. Todd
volunteered to input the data for the fleet assessment. Sarah to send him
the information.

ii.Q4 Community Meeting & Survey
a.10/19/24 Community Meeting ESC will piggy back on Town Hall
being held at Adele Grage from 10-12; Todd will work with Amanda to
reserve center from 12-3 for an ESC Priorities and CAP Community
Meeting
i.Todd to noodle specific people to directly invite
ii.Consider offering lunch or light food; AB Loves Trees bags as a
thank you for attending
iii.Sarah to send Todd Canva Pro information
b.Community Meeting Content & Goals Todd to report out at monthly
SRSC meeting the draft agenda and delineate what we want the meeting
to achieve (e.g., list of suggested priorities and actions for ESC to
consider & feedback on the draft CAP) and how (e.g., dot exercise; use
polling technology such as Poll Everywhere). Todd is to think through
order of exercises, how best to present draft updated CAP, and what
materials we will need for meeting (e.g., start with clean slate question
what is important to each participant instead of presenting some pre-
determined options; have posters of each CAP area and post it notes that
participants can comment on)
c.Survey Goal is to host survey before 10/19/24 community meeting,
combine priority questions and CAP questions, and shoot for 1000
responses (20% of households)
i.Todd to email Amanda and Kevin Hogencamp about running the
survey from Sept 1- Oct. 15 (6 weeks), how much time Kevin
needs survey questions in advance to input into survey monkey,
and if Kevin is willing to help us promote the survey and the
community meeting.
ii. Todd to take a stab at draft survey before next ESC meeting –
deadline for agenda packet is 8/8/24. Sarah to send Todd
questions and results from past CAP surveys.
iii.Todd to incorporate ESC suggestions into final survey draft and
get to Kevin with enough time for him to input into survey
monkey, have a few of us test the survey, and then go live and
publish survey by 9/1/24
iii.Sustainability & Resilience Community Action Plan Next Steps
a.Sarah to take stab at updating SRCAP to look like Sustainable DC 2.0
Plan and crib on content where it makes sense.
b.Sarah to connect with Amanda and City Manager about the plan to update
the CAP and expectations.
c.Sarah to ask staff to notice another SRSC meeting for 8/8/24 11am-12pm.
Conference room is fine if Chambers is not available.
