Resolution No. 24-42RESOLUTION NO. 24-42 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE ONE NEW PATROL VEHICLE AND ONE NEW DETECTIVE VEHICLE AT A COMBINED PRICE OF $76,069 FROM ALAN JAY FLEET SALES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS AND PURCHASE ORDERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND AS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, each year the Atlantic Beach Police Department evaluates the number and condition of the vehicles in its fleet to ensure that they are safe and effective to be used for public safety activities during routine service and in response to emergency situations; and WHEREAS, the Police Department evaluates the agency's needs to determine when vehicles need to be purchased to provide police service to the community; and WHEREAS, the Police Department can purchase and outfit vehicles from one or more State of Florida purchasing contracts or secure favorable pricing and terms of contract from other vendors; and WHEREAS, the Police Department has determined that one new patrol vehicle and one new detective vehicle should be purchased and are available from Alan Jay Fleet Sales through a State of Florida purchasing contract for prices of $47,146 and $28,923, respectively. WHEREAS, the funds necessary to complete these purchases are available in the Police Department's FY 2023-24 budget (Account No. 001-2002-521-64-01). NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as follows: Section 1. The City Commission authorizes the Police Department to purchase one new patrol vehicle and one new detective vehicle for a combined price of $76,069 from Alan Jay Fleet Sales with funds from the Police Department's FY 2023-24 budget (Account No. 001-2002-521-64-01). Section 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute contracts and purchase orders in accordance with and as necessary to effectuate the provisions of this Resolution. Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
