WHEREAS, Karen Moore has been employed by the City of Atlantic
Beach for three years during which time she has never been at a loss for
words, and when under pressure she has been known to sing "Memories"
a capella, and
WHEREAS, Karen is moving to Alabama where she will, undoubtedly,
attain her life's ambition of becoming a housewife, going to the country
club, eating bon bons and playing tennis, and
WHEREAS, Karen has earned the distinction of being the first female
employee to be accused of sexual harassment for her attempt to redesign
the police uniforms for the Detective Division; and
WHEREAS, Karen has portrayed the character which rivals the "Mouse"
in Orlando, presides over the Magic Kingdom of Waste Management in
Atlantic Beach, and has been known to "moonwalk" in Russell Park. . .
Ricky Raccoon, and
WHEREAS, Karen has brought the city newsletter to a level of
quality and integrity worthy of display in the lines of any major
supermarket chain; and
WHEREAS, Karen, who claims to be an Auburn fan, has proudly worn
team shirts of Florida State University and the University of Florida
at work on several occasions; and
WHEREAS, Karen's sense of humor has enriched the lives of her
co-workers and friends in the City of Atlantic Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Atlantic Beach City
Commission thanks Karen for her contributions to the quality of life in
Atlantic Beach through her participation in community activities, and
BE IT FURTHER resolved that Karen will be missed by the City
Commission, the city employees and the citizens as they wish her good
fortune in the years to come.
