A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXPANSION OF FIELD C AND
THE ADDITION OF A BATTING CAGE BEHIND FIELD B IN JACK
RUSSELL PARK; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in partnership with the City of Atlantic Beach, the nonprofit organization
Atlantic Beach Athletic Association (ABAA) operates the community's youth baseball program
at Jack Russell Park; and
WHEREAS, to maximize participation and the enjoyment of the youth baseball program,
the ABAA has identified the need to expand Field C and to add a batting cage behind Field B at
Jack Russell Park and has agreed to pay for these enhancements; and
WHEREAS, ABAA presented this plan to City staff, which supports these proposed
enhancements to Jack Russell Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of
Atlantic Beach:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the Atlantic Beach Athletic
Association to expand Field C and add a batting cage behind Field B at Jack Russell Park for the
purpose of maximizing participation and the enjoyment of the youth baseball program.
SECTION 2. The improvements will be funded by the Atlantic Beach Athletic
Association and carried out as proposed to the City, in conjunction with City staff, and in
accordance with City permitting requirements.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
