WHEREAS, the availability of harmful and illicit drugs to our
children, a violation of human rights, is a threat to the life, liberty
and pursuit of happiness of the people and the security of the United
States of America; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of this threat and of our concern for our
children, the Mayor and City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
shall adopt, sign, display and promote this special resolution to
encourage citizen participation with the nine phases of America's 3,106
Stop Drugs at the Source Treaty Campaigns; and
WHEREAS, the Stop Drugs at the Source Treaty Campaign, the
constitutional reasoning process, establishes communication, cooperation
and coordination between the people and the public and private sectors
of government, education, business, religion, service, law enforcement,
and media; and
WHEREAS, the Stop Drugs at the Source Treaty Campaign, the use of
the constitutional process of government as designed by our Founding
Fathers, shall be promoted to city, county, state and federal
governments and the public and private sectors of the United States of
America; and
WHEREAS, this resolution shall be adopted, signed, promoted and
prominently displayed as celebration of the Bicentennial of the
Constitution of the United States of America,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Mayor and City Commission of
the City of Atlantic Beach do urge citizens of Florida to participate
with their local Stop Drugs at the Source Campaign and to support their
county policy to Keep Drugs Away From Children and state and federal
actions to support their policy.
