88-03 v RESOLUTION NO. 88-3 WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Natural Resources is implement- ing beach access initiative, and WHEREAS, the purpose of the initiative is to provide public access to stretches of recreational beach, and WHEREAS, state funds are expected to be available to assist in the acquisition of these accesses, and WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach wishes to acquire a five-foot beach access at Twentieth Street in Atlantic Beach. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA Section 1. The City Manager be and he hereby is authorized to contact the Department of Natural Resources and file an application for financial assistance under the Department's Beach Access Initiative Program. Section 2. The City Commission pledges its 25% share of the purchase price, not to exceed $5,500.00, and commits itself to provide the necessary surveys and title searches along with development costs of the access. The City will also provide day to day management of the beach access. Section 3. Certified copies of this Resolution shall be provided to the FLorida Department of Natural Resources along with the necessary application for funds.
