88-06 v RESOLUTION NO. 88-6 A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 88-3 FOR THE PURPOSE OF APPLYING FOR FEDERAL OR STATE ASSISTANCE WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Natural Resources is implement- ing a beach access initiative, and WHEREAS, the purpose of the initiative is to provide public access to stretches of recreational beach, and WHEREAS, state funds are available to assist in the acquisition of these accesses, and WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach wishes to acquire a five-foot beach access at Twentieth Street in Atlantic Beach. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA Section 1. The City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to contact the Department of Natural Resources for the purposes of filing an application for financial assistance under the Department's Beach Access Initiative Program. Section 2. The purchase price of the property is $38,600.00 and the City Commission pledges $9,650.00, its 25% share of the purchase price of said beach access, and further commits itself to provide the necessary surveys, title searches and appraisals. Section 3. The City Commission pledges to provide the necessary funds for site development and to include in their annual budget the appropriate costs of annual maintenance. Section 4. Certified copies of this Resolution shall be provided to the Florida Department of Natural Resources along with the necessary application for funds.
