88-18 v RESOLUTION NO. 88-18
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Jacksonville has
distributed funds to each of the fourteen council districts for use by
the citizens in that district, and
WHEREAS, the Honorable Jim Jarboe, Councilman for Council District
3, has created a committee of interested citizens from the district to
consider various uses for these funds, and
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach has proposed the grant of
$160,000.00 for the acquisition of property for park and recreation
purposes, and upon such grant has agreed to match same in the amount of
$160,000.00 for development of the area, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach wishes to
express their approval for the proposal presented to the committee,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA
Section 1. The Mayor and City Commissioners do hereby approve of
the proposal presented to the Councilman Jarboe Committee in regards to
the use of funds for park and recreation purposes in City Council
District 3 and agree the City of Atlantic Beach will provide the matching
funds as proposed by Commissioner William I. Gulliford.
Section 2. A certified copy of this Resolution be furnished to
the committee chairman of Jacksonville Council District 3 and be spread
upon the official minutes of the City Commission meeting.
Introduced and adopted in regular session assembled this 26th day of
September, 1988.
