Meeting Minutes
Friday, September 7, 2018 @ 6:00 pm
City Hall Commission Chambers
Present: Grant Healy, Dawn Pope, Paula O’Bannon, Bob Burch, Marina Caplan, Beverly Norman, Timmy
Johnson (Liaison), Jennifer Stemack (Recording Secretary)
Visitors: Latrise Smith, Brooke Hitzenar, W. Kevin Brown, Karen Demuth, Thomas Smith, Kristin Price,
Kurtis Loftus, Kathy Wallis, Martha Gerding, Charles Walter, Buck Kaplan, Kirk Farber, Anne
Marie Tucker, and JoAnn Wallace
1. Call to Order
Chairperson Grant Healy called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm.
2. Recognition of visitors
Grant recognized all visitors present for the meeting.
3. Contribution Presentation
The following organizations made presentations to the committee requesting funds for programs or
events: Mayport Middle School, Neptune Beach Elementary, Atlantic Beach Elementary, Deck the
Chairs, Beaches Fine Arts, Yesha, FACE, Tony’s Turkey Trot, and Youth Empowerment.
After the presentations and scoring the non-school organizations, Grant motioned to give each non-
school organization the maximum amount of the category in which they fell into, according to the
contribution distribution chart. Marina seconded and the motion carried….6-0.

Tony’s Turkey Trot $1,500
Deck the Chairs $1,200
Beaches Fine Arts $2,370
Youth Empowerment Summit $1,800
FACE $1,975
Yesha $1,800
Dawn motioned to give each school the maximum amount of the category in which they fell into,
according to the contribution distribution chart. Bob seconded and the motion carried..…6-0.
Schools
Atlantic Beach Elementary $12,246
Neptune Beach Elementary $ 4,000
Mayport Middle School $10,000
4. The next committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 4 at 6:00 pm.
5. Adjournment
Dawn motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:42 pm. Marina seconded and the motion carried…6-0.
