Regular Meeting Minutes
January 14, 2020 6:00 pm

Present: Laurie Piscitelli, Eastman Curtis, Mateo Jurasic, Paula O’Bannon, Carol Silcox, An Oskarsson, Timmy Johnson (Liaison)
Visitors: Commissioner Anderson, Amanda Askew, Joann Nash, Joann Wallace, Mayor Glasser
1. Call to order – Chair, Eastman Curtis called the meeting to order – 6:00 pm
2. Minutes from December 3, 2019 – approved as written, motion made by Paula,
seconded by Carol. All in favor.
The Chair welcomed the new member An Oskarsson.
3. Recognition of Visitors – Eastman Curtis welcomed the visitors.

4. Old Business
a. 1400 Mayport Road Mural Project
City Planner, Amanda Askew presented the 1400 Mayport Road Mural
Project to the committee. She explained this is the second time the
committee is reviewing the information and the area has been cleaned, the
applicant is requesting $7,500 and will provide a match of $2,500, and the
project will be completed in 30 days. Joann Nash reiterated
The committee would like to see an example of a mural from the artist,
have the tree trimmed, relocate vehicles, to see a clean canvas, better
visibility and follow t he elements and principles of design.
Paula motioned to postpone the vote indefinitely, Carol seconded and the
motion carried. All in favor.
b. Arts in the Park
Carol has agreed to spearhead the event and we currently have 50
applications. If you know of any artists interested in applying please send
me their contact information. I put together a things to do list and will
email that information to the committee. We are currently working on the
layout and the poster. Paula recommends moving the stage closer to the
artists.

5. New Business
a. Bike Tour
Mayor Glasser informed the committee that Marina passed away the day
before the meeting. She chaired the event in the pass and did an awesome
job. Paula informed the committee that the event is scheduled for
Saturday, March 7 beginning at 9 am. She also went over the route and
assigned locations for the committee.
Laurie motioned to make the event in honor of Marina Kaplan, Carol
seconded and the motion carried. All in favor.
b. Election of Officers (Chair and Co-Chair)
The committee elected Eastman and Paula to serve as Co -chairs.
6. Adjournment – with no further business, Mateo motioned for adjournment, Paula
seconded and the motion carried. The meeting was unanimously adjourned at 6:55
p.m.
