Discussed the positives and negatives of “chunking / bite sizing” focus areas so they are more understandable by the general public versus using the wonky LEED focus areas. There is concern that there are too many focus areas following the Sustainable DC approach yet recognize being able to easily present and explain to the community what is happening in a focus area is also really important. c.Discussed how we have several different audiences for the S&RCAP each of which needs slightly different presentation – general public (high level, absorbable information with graphics on progress along with link to full technical report if interested, staff (how CAP fits into their day-to-day, CIP, and long term planning) and government/private grant makers (require detailed technical information) i.Public facing needs to be simple, non-technical with goal of helping residents find information quickly and conveying what the city is working on.
