86-07 v RESOLUTION NO. 86-7 WHEREAS, Bill 287 by Representative Lewis of Jacksonville and Senate Bill 460 by Senator Jenne of Broward County, requires City health insurance to be modified to provide for eighteen (18) well-child visits for children to age sixteen (16) , and WHEREAS, a deductible may not be applied to these visits, and WHEREAS, there is no limit to what the doctor may charge for his services, and WHEREAS, it is estimated the Florida Municipal Health Trust Fund would have to immediately reserve nine hundred thousand dollars ($900,000.00) for additional unanticipated costs for coverage in this category, and WHEREAS, the State of Florida should not mandate programs on Cities for which they do not furnish funding, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida: Section 1. The Duval County Legislative Delegation be, and they hereby are, requested to vote against House Bill 287 and Senate Bill 460, so as to eliminate another unfunded State mandated program on the Cities of the State of Florida. Section 2.
