85-12 v RESOLUTION NO. 85-12 WHEREAS, the Beaches Hospital is located within a special taxing district, which district presently collects 1 .5 mills or $1 .50 per $1 ,000 of assessed property valuation from the Beaches Communities; and WHEREAS, the Hospital Board is contemplating acquiring a new site for the hospital; and WHEREAS, discussions have taken place regarding the possible construction of a new hospital; and WHEREAS, the costs for the construction of a new hospital and operating expenses may cause an additional tax burden upon the citizens of the Beaches Communities, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the City of Atlantic Beach recommends that before the Beaches Hospital Board makes a final decision as to whether or not a new hospital is to be built, that the matter be put on a referendum vote to the people of the Beaches Communities. Section 2. That certified copies of this resolution be directed to the attention of the governing bodies of Neptune Beach, Jacksonville Beach, and the Board of Directors of the Beaches Hospital. Section 3 .
