Resolution No. 25-03RESOLUTION NO. 25-03 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC UTILITIES DEPARTMENT TO DISPOSE OF WASTEWATER SLUDGE HAULER TRUCK D-12 AND PURCHASE A NEW TRUCK; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS AND PURCHASE ORDERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND AS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Department has a wastewater treatment plant sludge hauling truck with over 150,000 miles and 5,500 engine hours; and WHEREAS, several costly repairs have been required in the past year; and WHEREAS, staff requested quotes for a replacement truck and trade in value from Tom Nehl Truck Company, Rush Truck Center and Mack Trucks; and WHEREAS, due to vehicle specs and inventory availability, staff received quotes from Tom Nehl Truck Company and Rush Truck Center; and WHEREAS, based on recommendations from the city garage and vehicle brand maintenance familiarity, staff chose the quote in the amount of $250,256.00 from Tom Nehl Truck Company; and WHEREAS, staff has submitted a capital asset disposal request to trade in truck D12; and WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in the Public Utilities Fund for this vehicle in account 410-5508-535-6401, in the amount of $325,000. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as follows: Section 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the disposal of truck D 12 as a trade in vehicle. Section 3. The City Commission hereby appropriates funds from City's Public Utilities Fund 410-5508-535-6401 for the purchase of the new truck in the amount of $250,256.00. Section 4. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute contracts and purchase orders in accordance with and as necessary to effectuate the provisions of this Resolution. Section 5.
