RESOLUTION NO. 25-14
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING CONTRACTOR TO TROUBLESHOOT ISSUES WITH
THE BLOWERS AT THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS
AND PURCHASE ORDERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND AS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS
RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the blowers at the wastewater treatment plant are surging and experiencing
unstable flow rates which can result in significant damage; and
WHEREAS, staff reached out to Howden, a Chart Industries Company, to troubleshoot
the issue; and
WHEREAS, Howden is a sole source provider for the parts and repairs of the Turblex
blowers; and
WHEREAS, Howden, a Chart Industries Company, returned a quote for $28,300 to
troubleshoot the issues with the blowers; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in the Public Utilities Fund for this purpose in
Account No. 410-5508-535-4600.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
as follows:
Section 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes in the amount of $28,300 to perform
the troubleshooting.
Section 2. The City Commission hereby appropriates funds from the City's Public Utilities
Fund for this purpose.
Section 3. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute contracts
and purchase orders in accordance with and as necessary to effectuate the provisions of this
Resolution;
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
