Please explain any employment experience, board/committee experience, and/or community volunteer experience
relative to the board/committee applying for.
I've been involved in many civic/community activities over the years: past president and member of the Greater Arlington
Civic Council; past president and current board member of Greenscape; past board chairman and board member of Habijax;
and current board member and tree committee chairman of Scenic Jacksonville.
Please provide a brief explanation of your interest or any special qualifications you have in this field and your reasons
for wishing to be appointed to this advisory committee.
I have lived in Atlantic Beach for 16 years. My adult children and their families live in Atlantic Beach as well. My wife grew
up in Atlantic Beach. We all love our community and the tree canopy and want to protect it. I also understand the need to
balance the protection of trees with private property rights. We need to establish a group that can assist our elected
officials and our city administration to effectively communicate existing tree -related ordinances and regulations to our
residents, to enforce such ordinances and regulations, and to consider any needed modifications. Currently there seems
to be a lack of understanding in our community.
The form must be received by the City Clerk no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, September 23, 2016.
