A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPROVING THE THERMOPLASTIC CROSSWALK PROJECT;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACTS
AND PURCHASE ORDERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND AS NECESSARY
TO EFFECTUATE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, City staff has identified the thermoplastic re -striping of high visibility crosswalks
and stop bars throughout the City as a priority project due to their deteriorated condition; and
WHEREAS, Jax Utilities Management, Inc. has a current contract with the City of Jacksonville,
Contract #71555-25, that the City of Atlantic Beach can piggyback on to complete this project; and
WHEREAS, the project scope of work is to complete the thermoplastic re -striping of various
stop bars and crosswalks throughout the City. The project area will include the re -striping of all
crosswalks and stop bars along the Safe Routes To School, from Sherry Drive to Seminole Road; and
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach Commission approved a budget of $50,000.00 towards
thermoplastic striping in the FY2025 Capital Improvements Plan. The project can be funded from the
Public Works Infrastructure account #001-5002-541-3400, under Project PW2513 "Thermoplastic
Crosswalks Throughout City".
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby approves the Thermoplastic Crosswalk Project.
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the Contract
with Jax Utilities Management, Inc. and approve a Purchase Order to said vendor in the amount up to
$50,000.00.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
