A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH,
FLORIDA APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE WHICH
PROVIDES FUNDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND
REMODELING OF THE ATLANTIC BEACH LIFEGUARD
STATION; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach Lifeguard Station located at 1 Ahern Street was in
need of construction and remodeling; and
WHEREAS, on June 15, 2022 the City of Atlantic Beach and City of Jacksonville entered
into an agreement for the project; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville agreed to provide City of Atlantic Beach funding in
the amount of $562,500; and
WHEREAS, the Agreement should be amended by providing City of Atlantic Beach
additional funds in the amount of $152,362 pursuant to City of Jacksonville Ordinance 2025-
98-E, thereby increasing the funding amount by $152,362 to an amount not exceeding
$714,862, with all other provisions, terms, and conditions of the said Agreement remaining
unchanged.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of
Atlantic Beach, Florida, that
1. The City Commission authorizes the Mayor and the City Manager to
execute the amendment to the interlocal agreement with the City of
Jacksonville.
2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption
by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida.
