Resolution No. 25-66RESOLUTION NO. 25-66 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF AN EQUIPPED POLICE MOTORCYCLE FOR $24,207.35 FROM ADAMEC HARLEY-DAVIDSON; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS AND PURCHASE ORDERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND AS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City has prioritized traffic safety and enforcement as a key issue; and WHEREAS, the Police Department employs a Traffic Enforcement Unit, including motorcycle officers, to conduct traffic enforcement operations; and wishes to add an additional motorcycle to this unit; and WHEREAS, traffic enforcement performed via a motorcycle is two to three times more effective than using a car, the police department wishes to add an additional motorcycle to the traffic unit; and WHEREAS, the Police Department can purchase and outfit vehicles from one or more State of Florida purchasing contracts or secure favorable pricing and terms of contract from other vendors; and WHEREAS, the Police Department has determined that one 2024 Harley-Davidson Road King police motorcycle can be purchased and outfitted from Adamec Harley-Davidson for $24,207.35; and WHEREAS, the funds necessary to complete this purchase are available in the FY2025 Police Department Budget in Account No. 001-2002-521-64-01. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as follows: SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the purchase of an equipped police motorcycle for $24,207.35. SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute contracts and purchase orders in accordance with and as necessary to effectuate the provisions of this Resolution. SECTION 3.
