Re: Level 11 Tree Risk Assessment with Arborist Letter: 59" Live Oak (Quercus virginiana)
On Friday May 16, 2025 1 performed a Level II Tree Risk Assessment on a S9" Live Oak located at 2212
Bearfoot Trace Atlantic Beach, F132233. The Oak shows signs of internal decay present in the lower 1/3 of
main trunk. Heart rot present in the upper canopy causing wood decay and softening of the heartwood. This
occurs when the vascular system and internal structure are destroyed by pathogens. Signs of past Borers
(destructive Insects) on the lower trunk There is also internal decay at the base (root Flare). There are also
signs of past failures.
This tree is located 2'-3' from the home, closer at the eves. This is causing multiple Issues. scaffold roots are
pushing on foundation of house, bucking pavers and the deck adjacent to the tree. This can cause extensive
damage to the home.
The targets of failure are: Home, Hardscape and people with 100% occupancy.
Level 11 Tree Risk Assessment
Likelihood of failure: Probable
Likelihood of impact: High
Consequences of failure: Severe
Risk Rating: High
The only mitigation is removal.
