Dear Sir or Madam:
Upon inspection of the property, I found eleven Cabbage palm trees that should be
removed. The tree poses an unnecessary risk to person or property. The palm trees are suffering
from severe root ball damage. The roots are above the ground and the trunks of the tree are turning
black. These are symptoms of excessive water damage. After a light rain the area where the palm
trees are growing puddle up and remain saturated for prolonged periods of time. During the heavy
rains the area becomes a small pond and the water remains for days. After years of growing under
those conditions the root balls are badly damaged and weakened. The trees are growing in close
proximity to the home located at the listed property and children play in this same area. The trees
are a hazard to the property and the only way to reduce the risk of danger is to remove the trees.
