The tree poses an unnecessary risk to person or property. The tree is suffering from root and collar rot. The trunk of the tree has a large hole, and visible rot can be seen on the inside of the tree. The tree is leaning over the neighbor’s property and is extremely hazardous to both properties. The trunk of this tree is completely hollow, exhibiting extensive decay and has a significant decay pocket on the trunk. The tree leans toward the road and nearby houses. This tree is in decline and is a hazard. Targets within its fall zone include: • Pedestrians • Vehicular traffic • Children playing in the roadway after 3 PM • Multiple residential properties Using the Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) matrix, based on a two-year timeframe, this tree has been assigned a HIGH overall risk rating. The detailed matrix findings are as follows: • Likelihood of Failure: Probable • Likelihood of Impacting Target: High • Likelihood of Failure and Impact: Likely • Consequences of Failure: HIGH There are no mitigation options that will reduce the overall risk rating below a moderate rating. The necessary removal of one 16” + 12” DBH water oak tree with a codominant trunk, located in the rear right corner of the home, due to week attachment points of leads and limbs at multiple bifurcation points of the codominant trunks. The above tree issues cannot be corrected by trimming or pruning. Due to the species of the tree and the likelihood of failure that could cause harm to persons and property during a normal weather events within two to five years. The above tree be considered for removal. Atlantic Beach, Fl 32233 In Re: Certified Arborist letter To Whom it May Concern: Upon inspection of the property, I found a Southern Magnolia tree that should be removed. The tree poses an unnecessary threat to person or property. In recent weeks the tree has dropped several large dead branches. Two of them landing in the road. At first look the tree did not appear to be damaged in any way. An aerial lift was brought in to inspect the tree. After a closer look, I found the top of the tree was severely rotted and the tree was infested with carpenter ants. The entire top crown of the tree has been rotted out and the damage is spreading down the main trunk of the tree. The tree is extremely hazardous to the property and surrounding area.
