A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THE REPAIRS OF THE
WATER TREATMENT PLANT #2 GENERATOR; IN ACCORDANCE WITH
AND AS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS
RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the generator at water treatment plant #2 failed in August; and
WHEREAS, the generator is considered emergency back up power for 4 high service pumps
and 2 well pumps in the event of a power failure at the water plant; and
WHEREAS, the public utilities department requested an emergency purchase order to have a
generator contractor troubleshoot the issue; and
WHEREAS, the public utilities department is renting a temporary generator at a cost of nearly
$10,000 a month; and
WHEREAS, the contractor, Ring Power, returned an inspection report and estimate for repairs
of the generator in the amount of $25,762.00; and
WHEREAS, the city has the funds available in the public utilities water production account
400-5502-533-3400; and
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the
Purchase Order to Ring Power in the amount of $25,762.00 in accordance with and as necessary to
effectuate the provisions of this Resolution.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
