Resolution No. 25-98RESOLUTION NO. 25-98 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC UTILITIES DEPARTMENT TO DISPOSE OF TRUCK PU5 AS A TRADE IN VEHICLE, AND PURCHASE A NEW TRUCK; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS AND PURCHASE ORDERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND AS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Department has a 2014 Ford Truck with 66,500 miles; and WHEREAS, due to age, mileage and poor condition, the Fleet Inspection Report recommends replacement; and WHEREAS, staff received a quote from Alan Jay Fleet Sales through Sourcewell's (formerly NJPA) Contract #2025 091521 -NAF & 032824 -NAF in the amount of $37,375.00, for a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck, including a $3,500.00 trade in allowance for PU5; and WHEREAS, based on reports from the city garage, staff recommends decommissioning and trading in the 2014 Ford Truck, PU5; and WHEREAS, staff has submitted a capital asset disposal request to trade in truck PU5; and WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in the Public Utilities Fund for this vehicle in account 400-5502-533-6401, in the amount of $47,000.00 for Capital Project No. PU2617. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as follows: Section 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the disposal of truck PU5 as a trade in vehicle. Section. The City Commission hereby appropriates funds from City's Public Utilities Fund 400-5502-533-6401 for the purchase of the new truck in the amount of $37,375.00. Section 4. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute contracts and purchase orders in accordance with and as necessary to effectuate the provisions of this Resolution. Section 5. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City of Atlantic Beach, this 10th day of November, 2025.
