AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR
THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, FOR FISCAL
YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2024, AND ENDING
SEPTEMBER 30,2025; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Charter of the City of Atlantic Beach requires that the City
Commission approve all budgetary increases and transfers at the fund level; and
WHEREAS, the nature of budgetary systems and those day-to-day decisions affecting
such budgetary systems require adjustments from time to time; and
WHEREAS, the City is amending the operating budget to add net funds totaling $0 in the
Police Officers' Pension Fund and $0 in the General Employees' Pension Fund; and
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach did not include the funding for these expenditures
in the original adoption of the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Annual Operating Budget and therefore must
amend the budget to have sufficient amounts within the Police Officers' Pension Fund and General
Employees' Pension Fund to fund the expenditures.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION ON
BEHALF OF THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA that:
SECTION 1. The Fiscal Year 2024-25 Operating Budget is hereby amended as follows:
POLICE OFFICERS' PENSION FUND
Revenues:
Casualty Insurance Premium Tax ($85,245)
Expenditures:
Service Retired Pay $85,245
Fund Balance: $ 0.00
GENERAL EMPLOYEES' PENSION FUND
Revenues:
MSSB Investment ($367,504)
Expenditures:
Service Retired Pay $167,693
Drop Pay Defined Benefit Plan $199,811

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
