A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING A $46,863 AGREEMENT WITH HUTCHINSON
WELDING TO REPLACE THE CATWALK, HANDRAIL AND TWO
LADDERS AT THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS
AND PURCHASE ORDERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND AS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS
RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Department wastewater treatment plant has a DAVCO
tank system where the catwalk that crosses over it has corroded and has been deemed unsafe; and
WHEREAS, City staff reached out to the City welding contractor, Hutchinson Welding,
for a quote to remove and replace the catwalk, handrail and two ladders; and
WHEREAS, the welding contractor returned an estimate in the amount of $46,863.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission authorizes a $46,863 agreement with Hutchinson
Welding utilizing funds from City's Public Utilities Fund #410-5508-535-6300 in Project PU2210
to replace the catwalk, handrailing and two ladders at the wastewater treatment plant.
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute
contracts and purchase orders in accordance with and as necessary to effectuate the provisions of
this Resolution.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
