The assessment below was performed in accordance with the Tree Risk Assessment Best
Management Practice, 2nd Edition (2017). The two water oak trees pose an unacceptable risk,
and trimming or pruning will not mitigate it. The removal is the only practical means of
mitigating its risk to below moderate levels.
1. Property Overview
The property is located at 2227 Barefoot Trace, Atlantic Beach, FL. 32233
RE#: 169463-0640
Location: 20” DBH water oak tree in the front.
28” DBH water oak tree in the rear left.
2. Observed Issues:
The 28” DBH twin trunk water oak tree due to half of the tree is visibly dead and remaining side
is in fast decline, the tree has visible woodboring beetle infestation and will not survive.
The 20” DBH water oak tree has unacceptable cavitation and visible rot throughout the base of
the tree.
3. Recommendation:
Both the above water oak trees should be considered for removal.
